Revolution definitive name and dashboard

Hi all,

First i'd like to wish to all of you a happy new hear, with love, happiness, money, health and so on. And 2006, of course, will also be the year of Nintendo Revolution !

Before going further, i'll precise some little details. In the comments section, it appears that some people have not read my previous posts : Nintendo "ON" will be an Add-on, and won't be sold with the console. This includes the brain and the visor. I precise too that the motion detection using an infrared system has been cancelled, and that the Nunchaku attachment will replace it in its role of moving in the virtual environment. It's much cheaper.

I'll begin this year by announcing you the final name of the codenamed Nintendo Revolution. This name has been floating around for a long time, but it was in competition with two main others, which are Nintendo Millenium System and Nintendo Infinity System. So, the definitive name of Revolution will be Nintendo Revolution System, or Nintendo RS. Many of you will think : "hey, we already heard this name before, with Osoko Tanaka for example... ", or "Nintendo RS is the name of the fake video found on Google a few days ago...". You are true :-) But the final name is Nintendo RS, that's all. Why such a similarity with Nintendo DS ?

Simply because RS and DS will be able to connect each other for some exclusive functionalities that i'll explain soon, you'll see that RS has been developped in a way that DS will have an important role in some features. They will complete each other, in a kind of unique system. This is one of the surprises to come. Furthermore, DS and RS have in common that they represent a new way to play, and are radically different from other hardware. Finally, the public heards about "Revolution" for a long time, so the "Revolution" word had to be in the final name. You know every reasons by now, and next month at DICE, you'll see that i'm right. Reggie will say during his speech at DICE 2006 (February) that Nintendo RS is the official name of Nintendo Revolution.

Finally, i'll say some words about the dashboard picture that you can find easily on the Internet :

When i saw it : "Wouahahahah". Nice try. But very bad fake, really. The definitive dashboard does not look like this poor one, and the logo is very different too. Poor fakers :-) I wanted to say people how bad this fake is, because the real dashboard is really very nice-looking.

See ya !

Merci.

PS : Kevin, your questions are on the way ;-)

sorry, i would like for you to verify that the ON is real, everything else i believe you becouse i've found proof in other sites, but with the ON, everywhere i read anything about it they say it's not real, Gamespot called it a Bogus... could you show us some proof that the ON exists other than the google video... Thank you man, and keep posting, it's getting really interesting...

So.. You're saying that this dashboard pic is fake, but the older one of No End Soon is real...
Well, sorry to tell you N5_DEV, but the older one is from the same source:
look http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=revolutiondevelopmentkitstartu.jpg

It's the same as that one:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d153/HornHead8898/noendsoon1ey1.jpg

The second thing is that a screenshot of the Revolution game "No End Soon" is floating around. You may ask : "Is this screenshot true ?".I can confirm you that yes, it is

A little hypocrite, isn't it?

At 9:46 AM, Blogger n5_dev said...

This is not hypocrite, you'll understand why later. I confirm these two screenshots come from the same source. And i confirm that the "No End Soon" picture is real, and the dashboard pic is fake.

hey guys,hi n5, hav you already started reading my questions, how are they, too difficult, too easy?but a thing is sure, the majority of them were not asked in your blog,so if u can give me at least three or four short answers, that will be very nice, thanx ;)

At 10:02 AM, Blogger Stomped said...

But if the 2 pics are coming from the same source, let's say, Ubisoft, why do they have a fake dashboard?
It doesn't make any sense.
Have you saw the actually WIP of No End Soon to confirm all this or you're just speculating?

I think Nintendo RS is a logical name. Perfect combination with Nintendo DS.

Merci pour tes infos N5_dev, j'espère que tu vas nous gater d'ici peu avec des nouvelles croustillantes! ;-)

I like the final name of the system (if it is in fact true), and I think that it makes perfect sense to have it as RS.

But as for those pictures...I too want to know how they could come from the same source, but only 1 is fake. I mean, the newest one is from a NEW angle, not just a photoshopped on screenshot.

And I like the new blog layout, better then last year's!

Mais à quoi servirait le casque alors si on peut pas s'en servir pour bouger ? Nintendo sortirait la console avec un truc "génial" en add-on ? Impossible...c'est soit tout soit rien...

L'add-on serait là à la sortie de la conole ?

I have to say, the theme is much better. Good Job!

And I've never first hand seen one of these Nostridamus thoughts of yours, only heard that you said them before they were announced (which could easily be hearsay). Come February we see ;)

Oh, and no they aren't from the same source. Imageshack.us is an image hosting service. And the user to post the second one has an album that doesn't have the first one: http://photobucket.com/albums/d153/HornHead8898/

When I said they are from the same source is because they are from the same Room/TV, look at the high contrast one and compare it with the old one... And beside, the link you posted is from another kid who is also hosting the pic. It doesn't mean he is the source from the original pic.

Hello N5 Dev, I see you've found my video.

It is not meant to be resl altogether but provide clues from a few pictures if you pay attention.

Here is my questions to you,

The add-"ON" you talk about was it the reason Reggie Fils-Aime asked
Pablo to call him?

At 3:13 PM, Blogger WLCD said...

Hi, i'm sorry but i will have to continue this post in french (because i don't really want to show how my english is bad ;)).

1) You have previously stated that the brain and Revolution would be sold together. Why did Nintendo change this?

2) Can you give us price range on the console and the add-ON?

At 4:29 PM, Blogger iceman said...

At 4:44 PM, Blogger cahz said...

Wait, you said the GPU and CPU would be in the ON, but that the ON would be an add-on too?

This make no sense at all. Like if could you play a game without a CPU and GPU...

At 4:53 PM, Blogger Varian said...

cahz, he said Hollywood and Broadway were in the Brain. All that is in Revolution is backwards technology and playing common Revolution games. The CPU and GPU in revolution will not be Hollywood and Broadway.

But with N5_dev suddenly changing what he's said, we have to wonder if even that still applies.

I am looking forward to seeing the answers to the questions. Thanks N5_Dev.

N5_Dev while digging through your old post you signed off saying "Seira". It's at the bottom of your blog now. What does Seira mean? It says Aries backwards. A clue?

What color gambit is going to be on the visor and will it uses LCD or OLED?

One last thing. In he Nintedo Revolution controller mocking video Pablo Belmonte made instead of saying Nintendo it says "Mintiendo" meaning "Lyeing" in Spanish. What do you think Pablo meant by that? You can see the video here:

Ok, so N5Dev, you are saying the brain and ‘ON’ will be an add-on to the Nintendo RS. And that Broadway and Hollywood are in the brain. If these are add-ons to the rev (meaning sold separately) wouldn’t that be a huge split in the market? Are they actually sold separately? That also means that the regular stand-alone rev has its own separate gpu and cpu for playing gamecube games, and common rev games (what does that even mean?) That seems entirely confusing to the consumer and a large waste with multiple gpus/cpus, especially when Nintendo is creating an inexpensive, consumer friendly, family oriented system. Who wants a system that has several parts to it with three disk drives among them? Am I missing something here, or are we all completing wrong in what we assume the rev actually is?

Additionally, you said that motion sensing was removed from the ‘ON’ and that the nunchuk attachment will be used for character movement. I agree that the analog attachment is a great idea, as you do not have to actually walk around for character movement, but I want to know if I rotate my head with the visor will the view in the virtual game match my head turn? Why can’t the visor include the same tech of the revcon? All the tech and componants are there in the rev package and controller (sensors, gyroscopes, etc.) and could be used to match my head movements.

Or is this capability irrelevant to the Nintendo RS? A visor seems very alienating to the user and especially those watching and not family oriented at all. I get the feeling that when you mention the ON visor, that it is only used as a frame of reference for us to understand or a smoke screen as to what the third secret actually is? As a way to relate it to us in the only way we will understand it, but without giving away the actual secret at all. I think it will be a new way to experience games (visually and audible) but not with AR/VR visor. Because you said they recently got the ‘ON’ working with four players. I don’t see this being possible with one visor, and if it were a visor, why wouldn’t four players work before, or even seem important, because all you would need is 4 visors. There is something very basic and simple that we are overlooking I am assuming. However, you talked about the IGS unit, and all that long ago, and that is very much like the ‘ON’

Also, how would the visor receive and transmit hi quality audio and video? I don’t know of any great wireless hi quality video signals. It would need to contain a hi bandwidth wireless component. If it is entirely wireless, how could it be cheap, and how would the visor itself receive power? It seems it would not be able to last very long on batt power.

I really want to believe, but there are so many loose ends, and questions of technology, the casual gamer audience and price, that it is really hard to believe.

I bet when I open my rev box, that it will just be a note that reads, “ Go outside. – Nintendo Real System ”

Also can you elaborate on what sort of vibration the revcon will use. Will it just be like the gamecube controller? Or will it be textured vibration, or any sort of real force feedback? Or maybe just a simple yes/no question. Will it be different (more advanced) than the GC controller? Hope you can clean up some of my questions/concerns. Thank you

I'm sorry, n5_dev, but you're most certainly busted. You can't simply say, "You'll understand why later." It's impossible to refute this. You're simply buying more time.

I've done a little researching on my own this morning and I've come up with this:

I believe the name Nintendo RS to be true. I'm also beginning to believe the ON might be true in the sense that the video actually was a presentation shown at E3 last year to a very select few.

QUOTE:
******
Nintendo "ON" (http://www.nintendoon.com/) will be an Add-on, and won't be sold with the console. This includes the brain and the visor.

If you watch the movie at 4:16
the name Revolution System (Nintendo RS) clearly shows.

I then read on another Blog that http://www.nintendo-3d.com/ was a registered domain.

The URL links to some german company which the Blog claimed had nothing to do with Nintendo
(http://www.tmp-mediagroup.de/)

However the same company happends to produce the exact same glasses as the ON seems to use :http://www.tmp-mediagroup.de/html_de/produkte/brillen_03.html

I then googeled to learn more on the technology used in those glasses and came by this interesting story: http://www17.tomshardware.com/2005/05/02/3d_stereo_technology/

On Page 9 it seems Nintendo is involed to: http://www17.tomshardware.com/2005/05/02/3d_stereo_technology/page9.html

Because if you follow the link for the 3D Consortium http://www.3dc.gr.jp/english/ You will find that in the members list (http://www.3dc.gr.jp/english/link/index.cgi) Namco is listed as one of the founders..Nintendo itself is mentioned too a bit lower in the list

*laughs so hard he's got milk squirting out of his nose*

Thats a real good one. But sans rire, the idea of all these "sold separately" parts is plain IMPOSSIBLE and too expensive. I mean, nintendo said they wanted to develop a simple and cheap system. The most optimistic accounts of the the price tag would be 150$ for the main unit, 25$ for the nunchuck and 100-150$ for the brain and the visor. Thus 300-325$ for the "full" experience, with 5 peripherals in your living room??? (nunchuck+remote+visor+brain+main unit). COME ON, come to your senses people!! Miyamoto Shigeru said the last secret was abou tthe controller, stop dreaming or else you wont be pleasantly surprised by the revo.

Using Blue ocean strategy, Nintendo will have in their strategy that the console is easy to use for the non-customer/gamer so ease of use will definately be factor.

It also should not be intimidating and easy to sell for the salesmen, unless of course Nintendo intend to sell direct which I highly doubt.

I just dont know about this ON thing, seems a bit contradictory to a blue ocean strategy as well as Nintendo's already spoken goals.

N5, i have been reading your site for a while now, and have been very interested in what you have said. good job.

i do have a question for you, or for your audience, and even kevin. There is i video on google taht is about 3 minutes in length. At about 7 seconds into the video, there is a revolution system hooked up to a controller and monitor. At 13 seconds in, there is a 3-d dispaly with people around it.

my question is this: is that 3-d display related to the Nintendo Floor Vision at all, and is this a part of the Nintendo RS? the video in question is http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5673543572072853455

thanks for the info and time.

Hi there.

The video itself is merely a collection of all the rumors and fakes surrounding the revolution. The immersion section that you are seeing was something shown at, I think, E3, but has no relation to Nintendo per se. Different company. Also, I really think the whole floor vision thing has been proven to be unrelated. Just fyi.

We all know that nintendo love to hide some secrets of their future consoles in their game (like the dolphin for gamcube).
So i ask you "is this HMD is the NRS's visor ???"

PS : HMD is sporting a pearl white design like the NRS... I can't wait 9 May 2006 ARGH ! (je suis mort d'excitement)

At 2:22 PM, Blogger Varian said...

monkey squeakeypants,

People still will not believe N5_dev if Reggie announces the console's name to be 'RS'. They will say, "anyone could have guessed that." They are saying that now when he said Zelda: TP was delayed to feature the Revolution's controller. "Anyone could guess that."

But look around TGS and you'll see that N5_dev described the controller on ZogDog forums and even said not the entire controller was shown. Most was shown but not all of it. Everyone thought the full controller was shown until Miyamoto said there was still a secret left.

N5_dev, a photo will not make the naysayers go away (but do try). They insist you are fake because you said the "ON" was real. This, alone, will have people oppose you no matter what you do. There is a backlash to the idea of an ON.

At 2:26 PM, Blogger RSDS said...

I hope you understand how i reacted. I'm sorry. I have a site, many people come with stories and i belive it. Then they say hahah nothing is true. Sorry again.

I really hope he is true, but there really isn't a way to know if the ON really exists, so for now, i won't get my hopes up, more than they already are jeje, it would be so cool to really have this... The thing about the power supply it's really intersting thou, it cannot be wireless, otherwise you wouldn't be able to play for more than an hour with luck...
About no end soon, there is another blog that looks like it is from one of the developers of this game. The pourpouse of this blog is for users to give ideas for this FPS game for the revolution:
http://revolutiondevelopment.blogspot.com/
check it out and make up your minds, it looks preety real to me.
They don't reveal the 3rd secret of the rev, they don't speak about the ON, but in a series of questions that the readers did, one asked about why the rev doesn't have HD conection, and they answered that the 3rd secret from nintendo kinda by passes that issue... don't know, look's real, but as i said, i don't wanna get my hopes up...
Happy new year from Argentina!

N5_Dev I want to apologize for all of the rude people on the intervet. As Varian said above the entire idea of the ON has been percieved very poorly. While some of us share the vision where gaming actually evolves there are some who do not. N5_Dev I have put a lot of faith into you because you seem like your telling the truth. I usually don't give into the rumors because of them mostly being fake but come TGS you where practically the only blog who survived the "Proven Fake" war. I personally look forward to seeing the dashboard you are going to post as well as the answers to my questions. Good times are ahead for everyone whether or not the ON is fake or real.

N5_Dev try not to take things so personally. Most people are extremely skeptical. There has been hundreds of fakes and given the fact that Nintendo isn't talking about Revolution most fans have grown pretty upset having to wait while the Xbox 360 and PS3 gets all the attention and it only makes things worst when blogs claim to know stuff but are only lyeing. However I myself am leaving a lot of faith in you and hoping that a Visor really does exist. Can't wait to see what the Dashboard looks like either.

Look, you're undoubtably a nice guy and you give plenty of your time to answer questions and so forth, but you most certainly DO have an obligation to give proof, otherwise you're no different from any of the other supposed "Revolution bloggers" out there and can't be taken seriously. That gives people the RIGHT to be skeptical.

Posting the final name and (soon to come) dashboard is a nice step in the right direction, but your info is terribly broad.

I guess D.I.C.E. in February is where we find out the truth, hmm?

Hi Osoko... Sorry, I would say N5_dev!!! OMFG, you people must be really short sighted, this Tanaka is pissing over you once again, and again you are giving credit to him... He only changed his name, guys... Let's face reality, the real point is that the hole ON thing is impossible at low cost for many aspects and simply impossible for the rest with current consumer technology (see majestic12 post, it resumes all very well). So please stop self-masturbating and growing the N5_Dev/Tanaka ego.

At 9:42 AM, Blogger hattori hanzo said...

And technology continues not being there, at least not with the expected quality and with a low cost. Otherwise we will already be invaded by low-cost VR headsets, be realist for god's sake. The only one approaching this costs more than 900$ and this only for the glasses. Add then the price of the "brain" (which is nothing more that a second console, but with much powerful CPU and GPU capabilities), and the monster developing costs for such a distributed system. Just makes no sense, or then it will cost 1500$ for the whole system, plus 200$ per ON-enabled game. Too bad for nintendo, who wanted to stay away from technology hype and base on gameplay :-P

I'm not a geek.

Hi, N5_DEV

These days, web is totally excited about Nintendo Revolution, people on the forums post a lot of crazy posts like "YES, NINTENDO REVOLUTION'S VISOR CONFIRMED, I SEE THAT ON IGN, I'M SO HAPPY...". However, Nintendo didn't confirmed any visor, but people continue their post !
I have never seen that for a console in the past. Certain persons refuse to enter in the "debat" of "visor or not on RS" because they don't want to be very disapointed if there'll not any visor presented the 9 May.
For my part, i really think that this visor could be one of the last secret about RS, and your informations are so amazing !!! It's simple : every thing you say occures in a few time after !
So, i would like you understand that we need another informations, you start this incredible work whith this blog, a lot of people believe, trust in you, you must continue to answer to our important questions (i don't speak about these questions that we can answer whith your blog's informations). I understand that you should be annoying by certain persons, but trust me they are a big part of the others who wait you whith a lot of hope about revelations).
I would like now to thanks a lot for all the informations you gave us, it's a very nice work you make for us.
Please, don't let us die of excitement (lol, i'm sure it's possible !) !

Hi N5 DEV,

I would like to know why did you tell us that the next zelda will have new functions whith the NRS

and on the other hand nintendo says that it will NOT be some new functions whith the new NRS's pad for zelda (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=62348 please copy this in your adress) ???
Why ? Thanks to answer that question, only that question if you can't answers the others this moment.

Hope you will answer (sorry again for the english speaking ^^)

You know, it doesn't say that they are denying the functionality of the controller. All they are saying is that the article was speculation, and that they haven't made any official announcements. I.E., and I think this is probably the case, they don't like people who don't actually have hands on experience claim they know what it's like to play the Revolution.

I don't know, I think people tend to take these comments and run with them.

That's what Nintendo said about Zelda:

The article in the January edition of NGC Magazine is pure speculation. Nintendo have made no new announcements regarding The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. We can however confirm that the game is still in development and that it will launch on Nintendo GameCube in 2006.

It doesn't mean that they are not going to implement special gameplay for the Revolution. They are just not confirming it nor denying it..

The lexicon and the communication of Nintendo are really one of poorest than it can be. It fears me, expecially when we concider that we are in 2006 and in 2006, they talk about... Zelda ! Come on guys, where IS the revolution ? Maybee we'll learn more in 2007, get the 1st screenshots in 2008, the 1st demo in 2009, and an official speech in 2010 for the lanch of the PS4.... for a lanch in 2015 with the PS5 !
Some are critizing n5, but if Nintendo was not into that kind of secret policy, shure we will all know about the Revolution. So who is to blame ?

Inside the Revolution, there only backward technology and what's necessary to handle signals from the IGS PU. Broadway, Hollywood and so on are in the IGS MU, not in the Revolution itself !

im not crazy, you said that BROADWAY, HOLLYWOOD and the RAM would be INSIDE the "On". AND you also said that the "On" would be an expension. Then, why would you buy the revolution alone? As a nice portable coffee table?

Heck I have not even seen him on my site in the last couple of days and he's usually on there every night for quite a while. Maybe he's just taking a break from the internet for a while or maybe he's busy with work or maybe he had a heart attack and died who knows? I am waiting for D.I.C.E because that qill prove him right or wrong as he claims that the final name will be given there as well as Valve speaking about the Revolution (possible partnership) bold claims so lets wait and see what happends in February. N5_Dev usually is pretty slow at stuff. Reminds me of SeriousGamer007. Slow at answering questions, slow at responding to things, only on messenger for small amounts of time, always gives cryptic messages or say "I can't go into detail about that". :) I offered to N5_Dev to leak images/video to me of the Revolution and would hold it private and only tell people if he's real or not but so far he doesn't want to do that. I have given my word so far and kept everything he wanted to be left as secret to remain as secret. Hopefully he will take me up on the offer.

BTW, the 2d glasses nintendo buyed from the compagny cost 799 US.
Now, add a Broadway And hollywood there. 900 US? Multiply that by 4 for your pals.

im not beliving it. Simply not. Give me more proof, and maybe i will. And answer to what i say.

Nintendo never said they developed a mmorpg either, they just talked about mmorpgs. They never confirmed zelda would be playable with the revo controller either.

just think about it. that doesnt make sense from a compagny who want more people to play games, easy and comprehensible hardware, gameplay and softwares and a cheap price.

I would love to get 3d glasses, but i wont. nintendo isnt making ON, lets face it.

I just saw the review of the latest emagin Z800 stereoscopic visor on extreme tech. It says that it cannot be played more than an hour or so because of poccible headaches. Now I'm wondering, can nintendo risk to launch a similar porduct destined in part for kids? Nope. So forget the visor theory guys.

At 10:26 AM, Blogger majestik12 said...

I watched that reveiw of the Z800 on kevin's blog as well. I dont think nintendo will be using the Z800 or a modified version because of the 30 min use limit, and eye focus problems it creates.
Maybe nintendo has created their own visor, but I dont see how you could get around the problem of having a screen so close to your eyes.
Maybe Nintendo has created some sort of naked eye stereo display, but I doubt that as well.

The Real Nintendo Revolution

Have you ever thought about this possibility:

The biggest Revolution Nintendo can deliver is to become market leader again like it was in the early nineties when they had almost a monopoly position. Nintendo clearly states time and time again that it wants to go back to its roots like it was about twenty years ago, and with their Revolution System they just might be able to pull it off.

Nintendo's biggest surprise will be that the leaked ON video was actually true.
Thus Nintendo have revealed their entire strategic plans, all their secrets and everything they hope will be the winning ticket for them 5 days before E3 2005. They purposely revealed everything they were working on when the ON Video leaked and no one ever knew.

This way they wouldn’t have to make so much effort into hiding everything and being so mysterious since everything was out in the open anyway. All they had to do now was make mysterious comments every now and then and no one would ever know the real secret behind the Revolution even though it was under their very noses.

Not only that, but Nintendo made sure that by buying all the correct patterns and licenses, they have managed to secure exclusive rights to publish video games of any kind which utilize a 3D Stereo-Scopic Visor system with eye-tracking software on any home console. Nintendo made enough money in the early nineties which allowed them to buy all these patterns without taking any losses. If everything works out like they planned however the money spent will pay itself back in no time.

Other manufacturers are of course allowed to create their own visor for use with PS3 or Xbox180, however the software (in this case the game itself) is not allowed to use a visor with some sort of eye-tracking software if the intended market is the home console market. This means that similar technology may be used for the video games section in the pc market, but not in the home console market.

The reason they are doing this is because using a 3D visor system, which utilizes stereo-scopic imaging to give the illusion of depth and perception, combined with the free hand revolutionary controller will set the standard for the way Video Games will be played from now on like they set the standard with the NES. Nintendo realizes this and by securing the option to have exclusive rights to use this technology in the home console market they will dominate the video game market once again.

You see the real revolution isn’t just the visor, it’s Nintendo’s vision of how what a video game should be in the first place and how we will play it.

It’s the fact that they releases their entire strategy and all their secrets 5 days before E3 2005 and no one every realized it.

It’s the fact that, by acquiring all those patterns and licenses that, no other company is allowed to copy their Gameplay Method (using a free hand remote and stereo-scopic visor) and incorporate it within their own Video Game Console for the next 3 years.

Nintendo will therefore become the market within a year after revolution’s launch and will stay that way for the next 2 years until their right to have sole rights to all this will be void and other companies can start taking the same path Nintendo is now. By that time they will have established themselves as Nr 1 Video Game Company in the world again.

Did anybody realize there is nearly no tv visible in any kind of media related to that NRS?
It could be either the reason that they don´t want to show any media about the games yet or that they are hiding something about the relation between the machine and a tv.

But I wont believe in that visor thing until it´s in front of my eyes. My blog contains some thoughts, maybe worth a read.

Hi everybody...

First of all sorry for my poor english...!

Now, this is a long time that i am wondering if all Nintendo Revolution stories appear to be true or not. How was my surprise when i saw for the first time the Nintendo "On" video about virtual reality gaming... I was first very surprised but a few seconds later it appeared to me all this was just a player's dream...

I have read a lot of writings all over the net about players impressions about Revolution and all writings and point of views on this blog are really interesting...

I am a fan video game player since the NES and i love Nintendo innovative products... Nintendo DS is the best exemple on how Nintendo is viewing the future for the video game world: new concept games and always fun.

I am waiting with a lot of impatience the truth about the Nintendo Revolution and i hope that all N5_Dev said about Nintendo "On" is true.

Now, here is my opinion and own speculations about Revolution:

1. Why i think Nintendo "On" could be true?

- because Nintendo (like i said before) is an innovative game concept producer. And Nintendo DS is just the beginning about Nintendo's new conception of the game market.

- because Nintendo has been the first in the game world to create a VR system with the Virtual Boy. It's true, the system failed but it was the first test in the game world... And we can imagine that Nintendo team has developed this system for the future (and maybe the future is now...)

- because of the name!!! """Revolution...""" Sorry to tell that but i was a little sad when i saw Nintendo presentation of Revolution at E3 2005. Revolution is a huge word to describe a game system... And i believe (and i hope) that Nintendo will give to players the best of "gameplays of the future". Virtual Reality is, i think, the next step... the next dimension in the game's world. Players want more than just playing a 3D game on a TV. Mario 64 was a revolution at the time... besause players discovered really a 3D world! What a new experience! GameCube, for me, failed, because there is no new game experience with this system... Now, Nintendo DS is on the wright way... And Revolution... will be on the upper floor (i hope). So... I'am waiting for the verdict...

But all of this said...

2. Why i think Nintendo "On" could be just a dream?

- because the system appears to be very expensive ( but in the other hand, Nintendo DS, with its 2 LCD screens, just costs 140 euros... so...)

- because of the Nintendo new politik. Nintendo want to sell game system less expensive than all the others next gen game system.

- because in the official Revolution Video showed at E3... Revolution works with TV. And i think this is the truth... Really the truth... :::)))

- maybe because Virtual Reality is not yet ready to be "opened" for a large public of players... I think VR is, for the moment, a fan player's dream... Much more than a true reality...

In conclusion... I have a lot of doubts about the Nintendo "ON" system... I just can't believe this even if i will love it! I think Nintendo is not ready for this game experience...

So... i am wondering something...

And if Nintendo was working on a similar system but not a true virtual reality system. Can you imagine a system, less expensive, which consists in a kind of "3D PROJECTION AND IMMERSIVE WORLD FROM YOUR TV". We have not yet seen a single screen of Nintendo Revolution game? Why? Because we have to wear 3D glasses to view the correct image on the TV? Maybe this is the near future for game experience... Don't forget the new experiences in theaters about the D-Cinema and 3D projection... And what about this story which say that Rodriguez (director of Sin City) and others great FX directors from USA have heared that a new game system will experience this kind of 3D representative world?

So... Is "3D projection from TV" the true secret about Revolution system?

I let you think about this solution... Maybe this is the first step... waiting, one day, for the true 3D Virtual Reality game system...

Sincerely,

Jin_CokteZ

Good.

Nintendo wont release anything that cost around 700 bucks for one single player, while they state that they want an affordable console.

-Also, people dont seem to care about a big flaw in n5_dev comments: He stated (and i could copy and past what he wrote here) that the revolution was way too small, that broadway and hollywood (the cpu and gpu of the revolution) would be INSIDE the ON. Then, he stated that the ON would be AN ADD-ON.

Impossible. Just Imposible.

At 12:01 PM, Blogger Arsenis said...

yep, why would i want the revo when the addon has the cpu and gpu which make the games run, thats the hard-ware.

At 1:50 PM, Blogger Alleged-Rapist said...

I don't see how that's impossible. Almost every device that does some processing has to have a microchip, and in this scenario, the microchip would just be very powerful.
